Project Overview

The BKB Service division recently delivered a critical fire system upgrade at a high-rise residential apartment block in inner-city Melbourne. The project involved replacing a failed Star Delta electric pump controller panel with a new, modernised panel, along with the installation of a separate external jockey pump controller.

The existing Star Delta panel had suffered electrical faults, compromising the reliability of the building’s essential fire protection system. Our team quickly assessed the issue and supplied a fully compliant replacement panel designed to meet current Australian Standards for residential fire pump systems.

To enhance system functionality and ensure service continuity, an external jockey pump controller was also installed. This upgrade allows for maintenance on the main pump without shutting down the entire system—ensuring continuous fire protection for residents and minimising system downtime.

Located in a densely populated inner-city area, the project presented logistical challenges, including restricted access and limited space. BKB Service coordinated all aspects of the works, including equipment delivery, removal of the failed unit, electrical installation, and final commissioning—all completed with minimal disruption to tenants and building management.

This project showcases the BKB Service division’s commitment to safety, compliance, and efficiency. Our team of experienced technicians deliver tailored fire pump solutions for residential buildings, ensuring long-term performance and peace of mind.
