The obvious advantages of removing air and dirt from the system are;

• Corrosion of pipes will be prevented – no air in the system to oxidise steel.
• Pumps run more efficiently – for pumps operating on VSD’s running at the same speed will allow faster movement of water as pumps not being forced to work as hard against the air.  Pump life also extended as no magnetite build up which is attracted to electro-magnetic components.
• Whole system performs more efficiently – air is an insulator which prevents heat transfer, therefore by removing air, chillers/boilers do not need to work as hard/often to reach desired temperature.  Overall this reduces electricity consumption and hence will also reduce carbon footprint.
• Noises caused by air in the system (gurgling and pump cavitations) removed.
• Reduced time in commissioning.
